Popular comedian-turned-preacher Woli Arole has expressed deep concerns about the state of Nigeria’s gospel music industry, calling out “hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism” among gospel ministers.
Arole lamented that invitations for gospel ministration are now based on personal connections rather than the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He also pointed out that many gospel artists are becoming indistinguishable from their secular counterparts.
In a recent Instagram post, he wrote:
“The level of hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism in the Nigerian gospel music industry is alarming. Invitations are now based on who you know, not as the Spirit leads. Music ministers—we can’t even tell if you’re a performer or a minister anymore. It’s well!”
His remarks have sparked discussions among fans and industry stakeholders about the true essence of gospel music.
