The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has deposited N4.

5 billion to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for the 2025 Hajj exercise.

The Director General of the Board, Ahmed Umar Labbo, made this known while updating journalists on the state’s preparations for the pilgrimage.

“As I’m speaking to you now, the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has deposited over N4 billion to NAHCON. This amount was generated both from intending pilgrims and some support from the state government as a loan,” Labbo stated.

He explained that NAHCON allocated 1,809 Hajj seats to Jigawa State for this year’s exercise, emphasizing the need for states to make timely deposits.

Labbo also disclosed that during the 2024 Hajj operation, each pilgrim from the state received a refund of N1.5 million, adding that the total cost per pilgrim exceeded N5 million.

He urged intending pilgrims who have yet to complete their payments to do so within the next seven days.

“A one-week grace period has been granted for those who have not completed their payment. This move is aimed at ensuring that all pilgrims are adequately prepared for the Hajj operations,” he said.

Labbo commended the state government for its support, stating that the financial backing demonstrates its commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful pilgrimage for Jigawa citizens.

“With all necessary arrangements in place, our pilgrims can look forward to a comfortable and spiritually fulfilling experience in Makkah,” he assured.
