The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, has sent a message of condolence to the immediate family of the Ekiti music legend, King Femi Ariyo, on his demise.
In a statement signed by his Media Adviser, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, the Oba also commiserated with fans of the music legend all over the world, urging them to take heart.
In the message, the Alawe noted that the music giant used his God-given talent to join other talented Ilawe indigenes in putting his home town in the global limelight.
“Femi Ariyo cannot be forgotten in a hurry; the way he spread his Ekiti music, particularly in Ilawe dialect, like a hurricane throughout the world
“He bestrode the Ekiti traditional musical world for decades like a colossus, got recognition, and won several laurels all over.
“We regard him as a good ambassador of Ilawe who did not disappoint the town in his chosen profession,“ Oba Alabi stressed.
“The monarch prayed to God to grant the immediate family of the departed music maestro the fortitude to bear the loss and also grant Femi Ariyo’s soul eternal rest”.
