The All Progressives Congress (APC) is in damage control mode after a supposed suspension of their National Chairman, Dr.

Abdullahi Ganduje. Local party officials in Kano state are pointing the finger at the opposition NNPP for orchestrating the drama.

According to Alhaji Ahmed Koko, Chairman of Ganduje's ward (Ganduje Ward), the individuals who announced the suspension are not even APC members. He claims they were "sponsored by the NNPP state government" and have no official standing within the party.

This alleged attempt to oust Ganduje has been declared "null and void" by both the Ward and Local Government Executive Committees. Furthermore, legal action is planned against those involved for "impersonation and calculated attempts to embarrass" the party and its Chairman.

Koko urged party members to stay calm and disregard the "purported suspension."

This incident comes on the heels of an earlier suspension of Ganduje by a different ward committee. However, the Kano APC chapter swiftly reversed that decision, suspending the ward leaders who initiated it. The Local Government Area then went a step further, expelling those responsible for the attempted suspension.

These conflicting reports suggest internal conflict within the Kano APC. Inusa Dawanau, the Local Government Chairman, claims the ousted ward leaders were caught engaging in "anti-party activities" and even had documented meetings with the opposition.

Whether this is a genuine attempt to remove Ganduje or a ploy by the NNPP remains to be seen. One thing is clear: the APC is working to contain the situation and maintain party unity.
