Like Rivers State political disruption, the lawmakers representing Benue State on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform have voiced their discontent with the leadership approach of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Accusing him of anti-party activities, high-handedness, corruption, and running a "one-man" show, the lawmakers condemned the governor's actions during a media briefing in Abuja on Thursday.

The Benue State caucus in the National Assembly highlighted their concerns and called upon President Bola Tinubu to intervene and address the alleged dictatorial conduct and inadequate leadership exhibited by Governor Alia.

During the briefing, the lawmakers disclosed that Governor Alia faced rejection by older party members before the governorship election. They asserted that Alia, who joined the party just two weeks before the election, reaped benefits without contributing to its growth. Additionally, they noted that the Secretary who restructured the party, George Akume, supported Alia's candidacy despite initial opposition.

The lawmakers emphasized that Alia, upon securing victory, attributed his success to popularity rather than acknowledging the support he received from party members. They labeled him as ungrateful, pointing out that if he truly enjoyed widespread popularity, he could have contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to test his appeal.

As the rift within the APC in Benue State unfolds, the call for President Bola Tinubu's intervention underscores the internal challenges faced by the party. The lawmakers' criticisms shed light on the complexities of party dynamics, loyalty, and governance in the state. Stay tuned for further developments on this issue.
