The State Working Committee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended four members for engaging in anti-party activities.
The suspension, effective from Friday, August 2, 2024, targets members for various offences that undermine the party's integrity and operations.
Suspended Members and Reasons:
1. Chief Samuel Ortom: For endorsing the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 election and urging the Benue PDP to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Presidential election.
2. Hon. Azua Ashongo: For gross insubordination and indiscipline.
3. Chief Isaac Mffo: Involvement in snatching Congress materials meant for ward congresses in Buruku local government area.
4. Bemgba Iortyom: Involvement in snatching Congress materials meant for ward congresses in Ushongo local government area.
The party's Media Consultant, Hon. C.T. Hwande, announced the suspensions, highlighting the party's commitment to maintaining discipline and order within its ranks. The suspensions underscore the PDP's stance against actions that jeopardize its objectives and internal harmony.
The State Working Committee's decisive action aims to reinforce party discipline and signal that anti-party activities will not be tolerated.
