The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Kehinde Yemitan, a key suspect in a shocking murder and ritual killing case.
Kehinde was apprehended in his hideout at Ilogbo Ota, Ogun State, just days after his twin brother, Taiwo Yemitan, and an accomplice, Kazeem, were detained for the same horrific crime.
The victim, Darasimi, a commercial sex worker, was tragically lured to the suspects' residence in Abeokuta, where she was brutally murdered and dismembered in what authorities believe was a ritualistic act.
According to Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, the investigation into Kehinde’s involvement has been intense. "After being identified as an accomplice in this heinous act, police surveillance teams, in collaboration with the So Safe Corps, worked tirelessly to locate Kehinde. Intelligence eventually led them to his hideout on December 30, 2024," Odutola revealed.
The breakthrough came at approximately 5:00 p.m. on that day when a volunteer informant tipped off the Divisional Police Officer of Sango Ota. Acting promptly, law enforcement officials and the So Safe Corps coordinated a swift operation to apprehend the fugitive.
Upon his arrest, Kehinde Yemitan confessed to conspiring with his twin brother Taiwo and their accomplice, Kazeem, in the murder and dismemberment of Darasimi.
The Ogun State Police Command continues to investigate the case, ensuring justice for the victim and her family. This chilling crime highlights the importance of community collaboration in combating criminal activities and underscores the commitment of law enforcement to safeguarding lives.
