Voting by eligible voters has started in some areas of Bwari Area Council, Abuja.
Voters showed up in large numbers for the election, which got underway around 8 a.m., and they vowed to stay at their various polling places to make sure their votes were counted.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, officials were on the scene as the election process went on peacefully, according to Naijacrawl, which visited some of the polling places.
A voter, Innocent Agaba, who spoke with our correspondent at a polling unit behind the Law School, in Bwari, said he was the first person to cast his vote in the area.
He expressed optimism that the exercise would end as expected.
“So far, it has been going well." I was the first person in this polling unit to cast his vote.
“I have voted, but I’m not going anywhere until my vote is counted," he vowed.
