The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has extended an open invitation to former President Olusegun Obasanjo to visit the Port Harcourt Refinery in Rivers State.
This invitation follows recent comments by the former president during an interview with Channels Television, where he questioned the refinery's operational capacity after its reported resumption of activities.
In a statement released on Thursday, NNPCL emphasized the importance of this visit, inviting Obasanjo to verify firsthand the progress made in the facility’s rehabilitation.
“We warmly invite our esteemed former president to embark on this historic journey with us. His vast experience and insights are invaluable, and we deeply cherish his contributions to Nigeria’s development,” the statement read.
NNPCL further highlighted its achievements in ensuring energy security and sustainable growth under its current leadership. The company underscored the significance of Obasanjo’s perspective, stating:
“President Obasanjo is welcome to tour our rehabilitated refineries and witness the remarkable progress we have made. Together, we remain committed to delivering sustainable value and a brighter future for all Nigerians.”
This gesture reflects NNPCL’s dedication to transparency and collaboration, reinforcing its commitment to Nigeria's energy development.
