The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abia has arrested six suspects for allegedly transacting petroleum products illegally.
Paul Igwebuike, the state commandant, briefed newsmen in Umuahia and he made it clear that he would rely on intelligence-driven activities to help stop the evil deeds of oil vandals. He stated that the suspects’ and their accomplices’ criminal activities constitute economic sabotage against the nation and must not be allowed to foster.
After the investigation is over, the suspects will be charged with a crime and prosecuted aggressively in court.
Tochukwu Onwuzurigbo, one of the suspects, denied any involvement, claiming he asked his regular supplier for only condemned oil but unknowingly received 25 drums of suspected crude oil.
