Popular social media influencer and blogger, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman, has been released from police custody after meeting his bail conditions on Monday.
While the specifics of the bail conditions remain unclear, his release has been confirmed.
A viral video circulating on social media shows Verydarkman joyfully walking into a crowd of his fans after regaining his freedom. This marks a significant moment for his supporters, who have been closely following his legal troubles.
Verydarkman was recently arraigned before the Federal High Court in Abuja on five counts of cyberstalking, involving the Nigeria police and Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dike. He pleaded not guilty to all charges. His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, promptly applied for bail; however, the police prosecuting team requested additional time to respond to the application, prompting Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon to adjourn the bail hearing to May 29.
Despite the prosecution's efforts to have Verydarkman remanded in prison, his legal team successfully argued for his detention in police custody instead. His release from custody marks a significant step in his ongoing legal battle, with many eyes watching how the case will unfold.
