Nigerian activist Martins Otse, widely recognized by his moniker VeryDarkMan (VDM), has made a shocking revelation about the alleged theft of over N180 million from his NGO’s account after a hacking incident.

The activist, who launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative in October, initially garnered over N35 million in donations within hours. Shortly after, prominent music producer Don Jazzy contributed an additional N100 million to support the cause.

However, in an Instagram video shared on Friday, Otse disclosed that the funds had been siphoned into an unknown account, leaving only N20 million intact.

“Honestly, I’ve not been myself for the past few days,” Otse admitted. “Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.”

Otse added that the account had been placed on Post No Debit (PND) status while the team works to recover the diverted funds. He revealed that efforts are underway, including a trip to Jos, to retrieve the stolen money.

To prevent further breaches, the NGO’s app has been temporarily shut down for maintenance. Otse assured supporters that updates on the situation would be provided as the investigation progresses.

The incident has sparked widespread concern and discussions online, with many questioning the vulnerabilities.
