Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has recently been bestowed with a distinguished chieftaincy title by the traditional ruler of Egbema Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Nzeobi Evaritus Amida.
The title conferred upon Nwabali is none other than “The Pride of Egbema Kingdom,” a recognition of his stellar performance for the Super Eagles during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Nzeobi Evaritus Amida expressed his admiration for the shot-stopper's outstanding contributions, citing that the honor was a testament to Nwabali's role in bringing pride and prestige to the Egbema Kingdom.
It's worth noting that this accolade comes on the heels of Nwabali's impressive display at the AFCON tournament. The goalkeeper's remarkable efforts did not go unnoticed, earning him not only the admiration of his community but also a substantial reward.
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, recognized Nwabali's achievements by presenting him with a reward of N20 million. This substantial sum reflects the state's appreciation for the goalkeeper's dedication and excellence on the field.
In addition to the chieftaincy title and monetary reward, the 27-year-old goalkeeper was also honored with the title of "Distinguished Service Star of River State," further solidifying his status as a distinguished figure in the region.
Stanley Nwabali's journey from the football field to receiving such prestigious honors underscores the impact of sports not only on the individual but also on the community and the state as a whole. The goalkeeper's achievements serve as an inspiration, highlighting the potential for sports to bring recognition, pride, and unity to regions across the globe.
