Victor Osimhen says he can’t wait to start training under new Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle.
The Super Eagles will assemble again this weekend for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
It will be the first time majority of the players will be meeting the Malian.
Chelle was in Europe in January where he met the likes of Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Moses Simon.
“I’ve spoken to him couple of times and clearly understand the objectives he has set for himself and for the players,” Osimhen told BBC Sports Africa.
The Super Eagles are yet to record a win in the qualifiers and sit in fifth position in Group C.
Osimhen said the players must fight hard to secure a place at the mundial.
“It takes more than a coach to win football matches. Players must also be at their best, show commitment and bear in mind that we can all fly together to reach our goal,” added the Galatasaray striker.
