The third round of Champions League group games are upon us and it’s off to Amsterdam for Frank Lampard’s side as we seek a second consecutive win in Group H.

When and where

Our maiden competitive match against Ajax is at the Johan Cruyff Arena in the Dutch capital, the venue for our Europa League triumph in 2013. 

The game kicks off at 5.55 pm UK time. This kick-off time is new to the Champions League this season. 

Injury update

Ross Barkley went off injured during the win over Newcastle, while N'Golo Kante, Toni Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Emerson Palmieri were not involved. Lampard is likely to be asked if any of them could feature on Wednesday. 

Significance of the game

Ajax has a 100 percent record after two games, while we and Valencia are locked on three points. In what looks set to be a tight group, the forthcoming fixtures against Ajax take on extra significance, and Lampard could be asked what would be a good result in Amsterdam.

Last season's Champions League semi-finalists have made a good start to this campaign despite losing some key players over the summer, and Lampard could give his view on what has made the Dutch champions such a dangerous team in recent times.
