Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has taken legal action against Turkish journalist Tolga Bozduman over allegations of assault.

The news was confirmed by Osimhen’s close friend and radio personality, Onokala Onyebuchi, popularly known as ‘Buchi Laba.’

Sharing the update on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Buchi Laba wrote:

“Victor Osimhen has officially sued the journalist that accused the Nigerian international of hitting him. The case officially will start in court tomorrow.”

The controversy erupted after Bozduman accused Osimhen of punching him following Galatasaray’s dramatic 3-3 draw with Dynamo Kyiv earlier this month. Bozduman claimed the incident occurred as he attempted to photograph the Nigerian international outside a venue.

Amid the allegations, reports surfaced suggesting that Osimhen allegedly offered money to have video evidence of the altercation deleted—a claim the 26-year-old has firmly denied.

In a statement addressing the issue, Osimhen expressed his disappointment, saying, “If I hit him, he’s going to get justice, and if he lied, he’s going to get the wrath of the law.”

This bold move to file a lawsuit underlines Osimhen’s determination to protect his reputation and clear his name.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last summer, has been in stellar form on the pitch. However, the ongoing legal drama adds an extra layer of scrutiny as he navigates these off-field allegations.

Stay tuned for updates as the case unfolds.
