According to reports, Barcelona might be compelled to permit summer signings.
Both Franck Kesie and Andreas Christensen have already left.
A shocking report from ESPN claims that the Catalan giants will allegedly give these two new players the option to leave on free transfers if they are unable to register them with La Liga before their match against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
Kessie joined Barca on a free transfer from AC Milan, and Christensen was also signed as a free agent after his Chelsea contract expired.
According to a report from ESPN, other signings like Robert Lewandowski have also yet to be registered, but it appears that Kessie and Christensen's situation is different because they joined on free transfers.
Astonishingly, Barcelona risks being humiliated if they are unable to register the numerous high-profile additions they made this summer.
Although this isn't necessarily thought to be a likely scenario, ESPN continued, it does seem like this could be an interesting story to follow over the course of the next 48 hours or so.
