In spite of rumors that Manchester United is interested, Bologna director Marco di Vaio has confirmed that the team has no plans to offload forward Marko Arnautovic this summer.

The 33-year-old became the Red Devils' unexpected transfer target last weekend. It is believed that a £7.6 million bid for the Austrian international was turned down.

Danijel Arnautovic, Arnautovic's brother and agent, has since disclosed that his client has recently received an offer from a "well-known club."

It's true that a well-known club has made a bid. According to Danijel Arnautovic, "I'm in contact with Bologna to see if that can be realized."

The forward, a former player for West Ham United and Stoke City, is rumored to be "fascinated" by the idea of playing in the Premier League again and is eager to work with Erik ten Hag and his assistant Steve McLaren once again at Old Trafford.

When Ten Hag was working as FC Twente's assistant coach in 2008, Arnautovic was a player for McLaren at that time.

Bologna chief Di Vaio has admitted that he is “proud” of Man United’s interest in Arnautovic but has expressed his desire to keep hold of the forward this summer.

Speaking to reporters, via journalist Fabrizio Romano, Di Vaio said: “Man United on Arnautovic? We’re proud of Man U's interest in Marko, but we are not planning to sell him.

“We want to keep him at Bologna as president said, he’s a key part of our project – there’s not even a price tag”.
