Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has ‘liked’ an Instagram post about the Blues’ attempts to sign Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho in a fresh transfer hint this month.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the Argentina international.
The rumours intensified on Thursday ahead of next week’s January transfer deadline.
The Telegraph reports that Chelsea are now lining up an opening bid to bring the winger to Stamford Bridge.
But football transfers expert Fabrizio Romano posted an update on his Instagram account on Thursday, with Cucurella hitting ‘like’ on the post.
Romano’s post read: “Chelsea are now set to approach Man United for Alejandro Garnacho deal.
“Man United insisting on huge transfer fee around €70m to sell him, Chelsea make formal approach as planned.
“Napoli remain interested and attentive even after initial €50m package bid rejected, but talks are now ongoing for Adeyemi too as exclusively revealed on Tuesday.”
Meanwhile, Garnacho’s future with Manchester United is uncertain after manager Ruben Amorim left him out of his squad that defeated Manchester City last December.
