The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Augustine Eguavoen will continue in his role as the interim head coach of the Super Eagles.

This decision was approved by the NFF's executive committee, following a recommendation from its Technical and Development Sub-Committee.

Eguavoen, who previously led the team to a 3-0 victory against Benin Republic and a goalless draw with Rwanda during the recent 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, will now be at the helm for next month’s crucial matches against Libya. The 58-year-old former international will be tasked with securing a strong position for the Super Eagles as they aim to qualify for the 2025 AFCON.

He will continue working with his coaching team, which includes Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec, as they prepare the squad for the upcoming fixtures.

In addition to his duties with the main team, Eguavoen will also oversee the Super Eagles B team in their qualification campaign for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
