Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has withdrawn from the Norway squad ahead of Euro 2024 qualifiers with a groin injury.
Haaland, who went into the international break with eight goals in two matches for Man City against RB Leipzig and Burnley, respectively, linked up with his international teammates this week.
But after further examinations, the 21-year-old has been given permission to return to Manchester City for further treatment.
As a result, Haaland will not take part in Norway’s upcoming games against Spain and Georgia.
A statement from the Norwegian FA revealed Haaland picked up the knock during Manchester City’s FA Cup 6-0 victory over Burnley on Sunday.
The Norway manager, Stale Solbakken, said: “Erling took it hard when he realized that he could not fight for the team.
“Fortunately, there is still plenty of self-confidence, talent, and cohesion in this group to win points in the next matches.”
