Trevor Sinclair, a former star for Manchester City, has asked the English FA to sign him as a consultant to help improve VAR.

VAR was the hot topic of conversation over the weekend, and several decisions were questioned.

A decision that would have changed the course of the game was made to disallow goals from West Ham against Chelsea and Newcastle against Crystal Palace.

Sinclair believes former players need to come in to help fix VAR.

“I wouldn’t say it’s referees admitting they don’t know anything about football,” he told talkSPORT.

“If you can get the help that ex-players and managers have got, why not utilise it?”

“It can be an open discussion!”
