Former Manchester United first-team coach René Meulensteen has warned the club against signing Brazil international Neymar.
The Red Devils are said to be interested in bringing Neymar to Old Trafford this summer, and manager Erik ten Hag did not deny the move during his press conference last weekend.
But Meulensteen, who worked under Sir Alex Ferguson, did not see the Brazilian's move to Manchester as a good one.
The former coach believes that Neymar cannot be easily maintained, adding that they would face selection trouble if they signed the winger, with Marcus Rashford currently the go-to option on the left wing.
He told talkSPORT, “It’s probably rumors and speculation; everybody keeps tight-lipped about it. I have my reservations about it because he’s obviously a high-calibre player, but he’s also a prima donna. He’s never played in the Premier League. Playing in Spain and France is completely different.”
"Also, his best position is playing on the left wing, and you’re going to go with Rashford.”
