While Barcelona players were celebrating their LaLiga championship victory on Sunday, Espanyol supporters attacked them.
The fans invaded the field and started running toward them, forcing them to flee into the dressing room.
Players and club officials were quickly protected by security guards who quickly intervened.
To stop the supporters from pursuing the players, riot police had to stand in front of the tunnel's entrance with shields.
Before dispersing without further incident, the supporters threw chairs and other objects.
Espanyol has now apologized for the incident.
“We should always condemn violence in all aspects of life.
“Everything was done to try to keep this from happening, but it wasn’t possible,” Espanyol coach Luis Garca said.
Barcelona won their first league title since 2019 thanks to a 4-2 victory in the Derby.
