Manchester United’s young sensation, Leny Yoro, has no second thoughts about his high-profile transfer to Old Trafford last summer.
At just 19, Yoro made headlines when he joined Manchester United from LOSC Lille in July on a lucrative five-year deal worth €62 million, with an additional €8 million in performance-based add-ons. The transfer made him the most expensive player under 18 and one of the priciest centre-backs in football history.
Despite the buzz surrounding his arrival, Yoro’s debut season with the Red Devils didn’t kick off as planned. His first outing in the iconic red jersey was during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal on July 27. Unfortunately, the match ended on a sour note as the young defender sustained an ankle injury that sidelined him temporarily.
However, the setback hasn’t dampened Yoro’s spirits. Speaking to Telefoot in France, he expressed his unwavering optimism about his decision to join the Premier League giants.
“No regrets about joining Manchester United,” Yoro affirmed. “In my mind, I always aspired to play abroad, and the Premier League was a dream destination. It’s something every footballer dreams of achieving.”
With his eyes firmly set on success at Old Trafford, Leny Yoro is determined to make his mark and prove why he’s worth every penny of the record-breaking deal.
