Lobi Stars players are excited about the prospect of coach Bala Abubakar taking charge of the team next season.

Abubakar is in talks with officials of the Makurdi club for the head coach role.

Lobi Stars have resolved not to extend the contract of their former handler, Mohammed Babaganaru.

Abubakar is expected to sign his contract with the club this week.

His players will return from their one-week break on Friday to begin preparations for the Naija Super 8 finals.

The competition will start on July 7 in Lagos.
