Luton Town has announced the commencement of contract talks with their standout Nigerian defender, Gabriel Osho.
Osho, who joined the Hatters from Reading in 2020, has proven to be a key player for the club. The 25-year-old has made a significant impact, netting four goals in 71 league appearances.
In the latest season, Osho showcased his versatility and defensive prowess in 21 league matches, notably scoring against top-tier teams Arsenal and Newcastle United. His impressive form earned him a call-up to the Nigerian national team for the June friendlies against Ghana and Mali, although an untimely injury forced him to withdraw.
While Osho's future with Luton looks promising, the club has decided to release his compatriot Fred Onyedinma. In contrast, another Nigerian player, Elijah Adebayo, has been retained by the team.
Following their relegation from the Premier League, Luton Town is preparing to compete in the Sky Bet Championship next season. The club's management is keen to secure Osho's services as they aim for a strong campaign in the second tier of English football.
