Leon Balogun has been replaced in Jose Peseiro's team to play Algeria in a friendly next week.
Valentine Ozornwafor has taken Balogun's place.
Despite playing the full 90 minutes in QPR's goalless draw with Stoke City, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) reports that Balogun has sustained an injury.
After the game, Michael Beale praised the former Rangers defender, saying that his background gave the team a lot of composure.
One of the few left-footed center backs currently playing for the Super Eagles is Ozornwafor, a former U-20 international who has already received three caps for Nigeria.
On September 27, the Super Eagles will play the Desert Foxes.
