Super Eagles' head coach, Jose Peseiro, is set to present a comprehensive 55-man provisional list for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, with the deadline for submission being December 14, as mandated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

In a departure from the standard squad size, CAF has granted flexibility to all participating nations, allowing them to name a maximum of 27 players in their provisional squad for the 2023 AFCON finals, as opposed to the customary 23 players.

The final roster, a crucial selection that will determine the squad heading into the tournament, is expected to be finalized and submitted by January 3, 2024. This extended timeline provides coaches with the opportunity to carefully assess and make strategic decisions regarding their squad composition.

The Super Eagles find themselves placed in Group A alongside host nation Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau. The group stage matches promise to be intense encounters as each team strives for success in the prestigious tournament.

Marking the calendar from January 13 to February 11, 2024, the 2023 AFCON is eagerly anticipated, and fans worldwide are gearing up to witness thrilling performances from their favorite teams. As the countdown to the tournament begins, the focus now shifts to the meticulous preparation and strategic choices that will shape the Super Eagles' journey in the quest for continental glory.
