According to ESPN, Nice is trying to persuade Mauricio Pochettino to succeed Lucien Favre as their manager.

After a dismal start to the season, 64-year-old Favre is under a lot of pressure.

Only two of Nice's first eight games have resulted in victories.

The owner of the Ligue 1 team, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is debating firing the Swiss coach and bringing in Pochettino in his place.

Pochettino, 50, is unlikely to prioritize returning to France, though.

The former manager of Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain is more eager to return to the Premier League.

After 18 months with the club, Pochettino was fired by PSG in July. During his time there, he led the team to the Ligue 1 championship but failed to advance them past the Champions League semifinals.
