Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United star, has stated the only way Erik ten Hag, the club's new manager, can prosper at Old Trafford is through recruitment.

On Thursday, Ten Hag was named Manchester United's new manager.

After five excellent years at Ajax, the 52-year-old will succeed Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season.

And Ferdinand believes that "time" is the only way Ten Hag can flourish at Man United.

What he [Ten Hag] needs is time, guys. Give this guy time to go out there and get through a good couple of transfer windows, "Ferdinand said on the Vibe with Five YouTube channel.
“He needs to reshape the squad and create a Ten Hag squad to get United back to winning things or at least challenging for the Premier League and Champions League,” he added.
