Rio Ferdinand, a former player for Manchester United, has pointed out Tottenham's main issue this year under manager Antonio Conte.

In comparison to their opponents, Ferdinand claimed Tottenham lacked in the final third.

He made this statement as Tottenham and Eintracht Frankfurt drew 0-0 on Tuesday in the Champions League.

He claimed that because of Conte's defensive playstyle, Tottenham attackers like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min would likely be on average farther from the goal than they have ever been during their Tottenham careers.

According to Ferdinand on BT Sport, "those three strikers, whoever they are, would likely be further from goal on average than they've ever been in their Tottenham careers."

"We saw them set up very deep, right at the edge of the box, against Arsenal within the first five minutes." Everyone is positioned behind the ball, the lead striker is tagging one of the central midfielders, and it almost feels like watching a carbon copy of Atletico Madrid in recent seasons.

It’s not what Spurs fans are used to seeing. The final ball in the North London derby wasn’t good enough, and today with Son and Kane, it just wasn’t there for the final piece of the jigsaw, and the hardest part is putting the ball in the back of the net, and they didn’t have that either luck or quality in the last bit.
