David James, a former goalkeeper for England, has advised Bukayo Saka to leave Arsenal.

Manchester City, in James' opinion, will be the team to challenge Arsenal for the Premier League championship this year.

According to reports, Saka is Raheem Sterling's "dream replacement" at Manchester City.

The 20-year-old England international’s current deal at the Emirates is set to expire in 2024.

Saka scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League for Arsenal last season and has been named Arsenal’s Player of the Season for the last two campaigns.

But he has been linked with a step up to a team where he can win titles.

The Gunners have started the 2022-23 campaign strongly and sit top of the Premier League.

“If there’s a chance of Saka moving to Manchester City, then he’d be joining the best team in England over recent years,” James told GGRecon.

He noted that though Arsenal currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, “Manchester City are going to challenge them for that position.”

Advising the England winger, James added, “If you want trophies instantly, then you’re almost guaranteed them if you go to Manchester City."

“I believe he’d be a wonderful addition to Manchester City. I’ve got a lot of Arsenal friends, so I believe he should move to Manchester City. "

Arsenal could not finish in the top four in the league last season but fought until the last day of the season, losing the Champions League spot to Tottenham.
