Kevin Phillips, a former Sunderland forward, has advised Marcus Rashford to leave Manchester United when the summer transfer window opens.
Phillips believes Rashord requires a new challenge and believes the England international has fallen out of favor at Old Trafford under interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
Since Rangnick came over as interim manager, Rashford hasn't seen any playing time.
The forward's current deal with Manchester United expires in less than 18 months.
It’s clear that he’s out of favour with Rangnick. For the last 18 months, Rashford has not been performing as we know he can. I think it’s probably time for the player and the club to go their separate ways. "I think he needs a fresh challenge somewhere else,” Phillips told Football Insider before Manchester United’s Premier League tie with Everton on Sunday afternoon.
He added: “A new manager coming in might view it differently. He’s not Rangnick’s kind of player. Something may have happened behind the scenes, but from the outside looking in, it just seems like he’s out of favour at the moment. It could well be time for him to move on.
