Simon Cletus, a talented Senior Secondary School I student, has been appointed as the captain of the Golden Eaglets for the upcoming WAFU B U-17 Championship in Ghana.

Hailing from Palm Ville College, Lagos, Cletus showcases his skills on the field as a key player for Mavlon FC, an academy side based in Lagos.

The Golden Eaglets, defending champions of the tournament, are set to compete against Burkina Faso, Niger, and Benin in Group B. Led by coach Manu Garba, the team will kick off their title defense against Burkina Faso at the University Stadium, Accra, this Thursday.

This championship serves as a pathway to the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, with the top two finalists earning coveted berths. Stay tuned as these young athletes strive for glory on the field!
