Gabriel Jesus, an Arsenal striker, has been told by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink that at the end of the season, people will only remember him for his contributions to the team.

He made this statement while highlighting a significant distinction between Jesus' performances in their 3-1 loss to Manchester United on September 4 and the 3-0 win over Brentford the following day.

The Brazilian must concentrate on scoring goals, the former Chelsea striker insists, reminding him that this was the main reason he was brought in from Manchester City.

Arsenal lost 3-1 to United at Old Trafford earlier this month, but on Sunday, they defeated Brentford 3-0 to get back on the winning track.

Jesus was dropping too often into midfield, according to Hasselbaink, which is why the striker was unable to score against Manchester United.

“He’s a number nine,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports. If I’m number nine, I want players to create from here and there. I can give you a ball and shape you up.

“He’s come to Arsenal to score goals. He can drop in at times in the midfield, but he needs to be more organised in the box.

“Last week he wasn’t going into the box, now he’s in the box making the difference and that’s what people will remember him for at the end of the season.”

Arsenal go into the international break still top of the table and will hope their players do not get injured as they represent their countries.

But the good news for Arteta is that his Brazilian trio of Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel will not travel during the break.

The Brazilians were snubbed by their national team handlers for their international friendlies against Ghana and Tunisia.
