Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has expressed doubts about Chelsea's status as genuine Premier League title contenders this season.
Despite the Blues sitting in second place, just two points behind league leaders Liverpool (who still have a game in hand), Henry believes Chelsea must prove themselves against the top teams to be taken seriously in the title race.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, Henry said:
"They still haven’t beaten a big team. Show me you can beat Liverpool, show me you can beat City, show me you can beat Arsenal."
So far, Chelsea’s record against the league's heavyweights has been less than impressive. They suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on the opening day, lost 2-1 to Liverpool, and managed only 1-1 draws against Arsenal and Manchester United.
While Enzo Maresca's side has impressed in other fixtures, questions remain about their ability to compete at the highest level. The road to the Premier League trophy will demand much more from the Blues if they hope to silence their critics.
