Dietmar Hamann, a former player for Liverpool, has commented on Marcel Sabitzer, who has just joined Manchester United.

On the final day of the January transfer window, Man United acquired Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich.

Following news that midfielder Christian Eriksen would be out until early April or early May, the Austrian midfielder signed with Manchester United with a no-buy option.

Recall that on January 28, during their FA Cup fourth-round victory over Reading, Eriksen suffered an ankle injury following a powerful tackle from Andy Carroll.

Hamann thinks the 28-year-old might find it challenging to make an immediate impact at Old Trafford. Sabitzer was also rumored to be moving to Chelsea, but he ultimately signed with Manchester United.

I'm not sure he will immediately help them, so I'm surprised Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in buying Sabitzer, Hamann said to Sky Sports.

"I am not sure whether he makes an immediate impact, but he is a good squad player to have." "He's certainly not a player to replace Christian Eriksen; I think he’s a box-to-box player who has got a good engine; he is very versatile; he played full-back at times.”
