Napoli is reportedly targeting Chelsea's young defender Renato Veiga for a potential loan deal in the upcoming January transfer window.
The news, shared by renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his X account, highlights the Serie A club's ambition to strengthen their squad as they gear up for the second half of the season.
Romano revealed:
"Napoli have been showing interest in Chelsea defender Renato Veiga as an option for the January window on loan. There are more clubs interested… but still unclear whether Chelsea can let him go playing more or not. Maresca sees Veiga as an important player."
Despite being viewed as a key asset by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, Veiga has struggled for regular game time this season, featuring in just four matches across all competitions. Napoli’s interest indicates they believe the 20-year-old could bring valuable depth and skill to their defensive lineup.
With other clubs also showing interest in Veiga, it remains uncertain whether Chelsea will approve a move. As January approaches, fans will be eager to see if Veiga gets an opportunity to gain more minutes on the pitch with Napoli or another club.
