Despite having previously given hints that he might be open to the move, Edwin van der Sar has insisted he will not go back to Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag, who was hired by United as manager from Ajax, is in the process of modernizing their football department.
As of right now, Richard Arnold, who was appointed CEO at the beginning of the year, Technical Director Darren Fletcher, and Football Director John Murtough are all working together.
Van der Sar, Arnold's Ajax counterpart, has frequently been mentioned in connection with a comeback to Old Trafford.
That speculation has only intensified since Ten Hag swapped Amsterdam for Manchester, with the two enjoying a close working relationship.
But when asked about joining United, Van der Sar told the Times: “It’s never been that close."
“I have a good relationship with the board and I had a fantastic six years in Manchester, but I’m not finished here yet.”
