Liverpool captain, Virgil van Dijk has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain is the best team the Reds has faced so far this season.
The Netherlands international spoke after his side’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 exit at the hands of PSG on Tuesday.
Van Dijk also congratulated Luis Enrique’s side for advancing to the Champions League quarter-final.
“Congrats to PSG, they have been the best team we faced this season so far,” Van Dijk told Canal Plus.
“Credits to Luis Enrique, he built a very good squad.”
PSG eliminated Liverpool from the Champions League Round of 16 stage via penalties.
Both legs ended in a 1-1 draw aggregate as Liverpool won the first leg while PSG won the return leg at Anfield on Tuesday night.
Liverpool will now shift their attention to the Carabao Cup final where they will face Premier League rivals Newcastle United this weekend.
