Peter Crouch, a former striker for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, has criticized Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly for his underwhelming play since assuming the legendary No.

In an interview with That Peter Crouch Podcast, Terry discussed retiring shirt numbers.

Koulibaly joined Chelsea for £34 million from Napoli this summer.

The 31-year-old asked Terry for the No. 26 shirt that the former England centre-back wore for a long time before leaving Stamford Bridge back in 2017.

However, no other Chelsea star took the shirt, but Terry gave Koulibaly permission to wear it.

When asked for his opinion on the matter, Crouch said (via the Daily Star): “For John Terry at Chelsea, that probably warrants it."

Obviously, Koulibaly has come in and gone, 'Can I take the 26?’ You know, because JT [Terry] is obviously retired. "He's come in, he’s taken it, and he’s making a right pig’s ear of it, is he not?”

Koulibaly got off to a great start at Chelsea, scoring on his debut for the west London club in a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on August 14.

But the Senegalese international quickly suffered a dip in form and began to seem unreliable at the back.
