Elon Musk won't purchase Twitter after all.
According to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission [SEC], Musk is ending his agreement to buy the social media giant, according to a report by Bloomberg's Ed Ludlow.
On Friday, Twitter received official notice that the $44 billion agreement, which would have taken the social media platform private and undergone a number of other modifications, was being discontinued.
This comes after months of rumors that Musk had changed his mind about the agreement due to his frequent complaints about Twitter, which he claimed was withholding all of its spam bot data.
Musk's Twitter acquisition was at "severe risk" earlier this week as negotiations dragged on. It has now been completely abandoned.
