Popular Nigerian actress, Queeneth Hilbert has taken legal action against the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, following an alleged attempt to arrest her.
Hilbert filed a fundamental human rights lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Lagos, accusing the Nigeria Police of trying to detain her on the orders of her colleague and former best friend, Destiny Etiko.
In the suit dated March 10, 2025, Queeneth described the police action as "illegal, unlawful, and a blatant violation" of her constitutional rights. She is seeking legal protection from any form of arrest, detention, or interrogation over a video she posted on Instagram on March 7.
Additionally, the actress is demanding N100 million in damages for what she calls an “unlawful invasion” of her privacy.
This legal battle follows a N100 million defamation lawsuit filed by Destiny Etiko against Hilbert.
The controversy erupted after Queeneth, in a now-deleted Instagram video, publicly accused Destiny of allegedly snatching wealthy lovers from their colleagues, including her own boyfriend.
The case has sparked widespread reactions online, with fans and industry insiders eagerly watching as events unfold.
