Fireboy's hit single 'Peru' has reached another remarkable milestone, earning the highest certification for a song in France.
Originally released in 2021, 'Peru' enjoyed massive global success, charting in several countries, including the US, UK, and France. The remix featuring British superstar Ed Sheeran propelled the song even further, securing a spot in over 20 charts globally, including the Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at No. 53, the UK Official Singles Chart with a No. 2 spot, and in France, where it reached No. 28.
Recently, 'Peru' achieved diamond certification in France, joining an elite group of Nigerian songs with the SNEP diamond plaque, including Oxlade's 'Kulosa', Ayra Starr's 'Rush', Burna Boy's 'On The Low', and Rema's 'Calm Down'. The song has garnered over 450 million streams on Spotify and achieved other notable certifications, including a 2X platinum plaque in the UK and gold certification in Denmark. It's also one of the few Afrobeats songs to earn an RIAA platinum plaque in the US.
