Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has sparked a conversation about his influence on Burna Boy’s early career.
In a recent interview with Naija FM Lagos, Skales stated that before featuring Burna Boy on the remix of his hit track Temper in 2017, the Port Harcourt-born superstar had not achieved major mainstream success.
According to Skales, their collaboration marked a turning point in Burna Boy’s career, propelling him toward greater achievements.
“I inspired Burna Boy, and I’m sure he’ll agree with me,” Skales remarked. “Back then, he didn’t have a hot track before we worked together on Temper Remix. After that, his career soared. I’m not trying to take credit for his success, but I know I inspired him at a certain point, just as he has inspired me over the years.”
He further emphasized the mutual benefits of collaborations in the music industry, stating that such partnerships are about supporting and promoting each other.
This revelation adds an intriguing layer to the history of these two prominent artists, who have both become influential figures in the Nigerian music scene.
