Jada Pollock, renowned talent manager and mother of Wizkid’s children, has opened up about the challenges of being labeled merely as "baby mama.
" In a candid interview with BET UK, Jada expressed her frustration over being defined by her relationship with the Nigerian superstar rather than her own remarkable achievements.
Jada shared how her professional efforts often get overshadowed by such labels. She recounted a moment of disappointment when she celebrated Afrobeat’s rise on the global stage following Wizkid’s Grammy win, only for blogs to undermine her message with reductive captions like “Wizkid’s baby mama.”
“When Wizkid won a Grammy, I wrote a statement about how far Afrobeat has come. They published it, but the caption read, ‘Wizkid baby mama,’” Jada recalled. “That narrative completely ignores the fact that I’m an entrepreneur and a hardworking businesswoman. I’m not just a mother—I’m a manager who has played a vital role in building a legacy.”
Jada, who began dating Wizkid in 2014, shares two sons with the music icon—Zion, born in 2017, and AJ, born in 2022. Beyond her personal life, she has been instrumental in shaping Wizkid’s career and advancing Afrobeat globally.
Her remarks shed light on the stereotypes women face in the entertainment industry, emphasizing the need to celebrate their multifaceted roles and achievements.
