Nicki Minaj, a popular musician, has reacted to the Oscars incident involving Will Smith and Chris Rock.
Before winning Best Actor for his portrayal in "King Richard," Will Smith smacked presenter Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Jada, I love you, 'G.I. Jane 2,' I cannot wait to see that, "Chris Rock said as he presented the award for best documentary.
Will Smith stepped up to the stage and slapped Rock before returning to his seat, warning him not to use his wife's name.
Nicki Minaj responded on Twitter, saying she doesn't believe Rock would have made the joke if he knew about Jada's situation.
I'm a big fan of Chris Rock. I don't think he would've made that joke if he knew what Jada had just said-but you mean to tell me that between him and the entire #Oscars staff, not ONE of you heard this woman just tell this terrible story? #ComeOnSon "The husband is privy to his wife's suffering..." When those cameras go off, he's the one consoling her, drying her tears behind closed doors. People believe that these "husbands" will never run into them in real life because of social media.
You just saw what happens in a man's soul when he glances over to the woman he loves and sees her holding back tears from a "little joke" at her expense in real time. This is how any and every genuine man feels at that precise moment. "Imagine what it must feel like to be losing your hair to the point where you have to shave it bald," he says as you laugh at the joke. Do you think that'll be easy for anyone to deal with? You don't think she's cried that many times, do you? You'll have to see these men in 2022 about the jokes you made about their wives, "says the narrator.
