Davido, a Nigerian artist, tells us how much it costs him to spend every night with his friends.

Davido said in a post on his social media accounts that he spends no less than $30,000 (about 17 million naira) on a night out with his friends. After sharing clips from a night out with his buddies in Abuja, he made the discovery.

"A night like this will set me back at least $30,000."

Davido went on to say that he isn't doing this to oppress people, but rather to motivate them to work more.

He tweeted, "We do this to inspire, not oppress."

If you follow Davido on social media, you'll know that he gets out with his buddies at least 4-5 times per week (that's 68 million times per week).

Nigerians were quick to express their views. The majority of people said Davido does not inspire them, but rather oppresses them.

They said that, given the current state of affairs in the country, they were unable to spend even half a million on the hangout. Those who were moved by Davido's performance praised him and pledged to work hard in the future.
