According to reports, Kamal Iliyasu, also known as Kamal Aboki, the well-known Hausa skit creator, has passed away.

The comedian passed away on Monday while traveling from Borno to Kano State in a fatal car accident.

Kamal became well-known after his Hausa-themed skits appeared online, making him a viral sensation on TikTok where he has a sizable fan base.

According to Usman, Kamal's older brother, their mother had a premonition that something bad would happen to Kamal on Monday when he was speaking about his death, the BBC reported.

According to him, the skit creator visited Maiduguri three days ago for an album launch. He was killed in a horrifying car accident while en route back to Kano.

“On Monday, my mother asked me to call Kamal around 5 pm, and he said he was already inside a vehicle to Kano. Then, somehow, my mother started feeling differently. Later, someone called me to ask if I had someone traveling from Maiduguri to Kano, and I told the person yes. It was at that point that the caller broke the news of what had happened to me.

Usman said Kamal’s death had left his family unsettled, adding that he will be greatly missed. Kamal is one of the nicest people in the world.

“He is always joking and playing with people." "Everyone will miss him,” he added.
